A thought from Alex_Holden.

If I had two sensors with logging (My current one doesn't have a logger), then I could use one after the inverter and one in the usual position and get some really pretty graphs.

I can't currently justify spending £70 to get a pair, but I do like the idea of being able to see both generation and consumption.

3 AA batteries. They'll probably last a year or so.

Get rechargable ones and top them up every midsummer's day.

Surely the other end must be connected to something to read the electricity?

THey probably are rechargeables. I didn't look inside, but that's what we normally use.

It may use batteries at the other end, but I'm not sure where that part is attached.
