Poll I think facial piercings are rather hot in moderation (i.e., just one) and the labret has always been my favourite, despite my propensity to pronounce it "lah-bret", as anyone with a good Classical education would. Ahem

Other: I have no moral objection to people puncturing their bodyparts with shiny objects and I don't think it would be lame, but my reaction to piercings in general is usually like, "Uh? So?" Dunno. Tattoos seem cooler to me... I have no piercings but I would love a gazillion tattoos, the more I think about it.

I dig tattoos as well. My planned tattoo has been tabled until I get some more money, but I'm definitely getting one.

One of the main arguments against tattoos (for me) is having to do more chitchat with the poker-person. Piercings at least are faster. This might just be me being neurotic.

you'll look like you had a giant mole or pimple or a smudge of food you forgot to wipe... at least that's what labrets always look like to me. that being said, you know i have a faulty eyesight.

i think i got that specific association from this girl who had a small round metallic red one. when the light hit it in certain angles it looked like a perfect white head to my beat up glasses vision.

I kind of think they're really lame. But lip piercings are five million times less lame than nose piercings, so if you do get something pierced, the lip isn't a bad choice. And you'd carry it off really well, even if I do think it's lame.

I was thinking about the brow, actually. I just read that they tend to migrate and take longer to heal.

Septum rings are gross, nostril studs are hot only on Indian women (although I've seen a couple of ladies carry it off. bellezzarubata has a pretty one).

Also, people with lip piercings are constantly coming to my place of employment and asking for advice over gross problems they're having with them. And not all of those people are white trash with questionable hygeine. Only some are.
