Most Over-the-Counter Cough Remedies Have No Value

This article shows that they studied 100 kids and randomly assigned to them 1 of 3 groups. The group given sugar water did the same as the ones given medicine. Pretty interesting.

I often use candies instead of cough drops for this reason. All you need to do is salivate more to lubricate the throat and unless you have a really congested chest, the coughing will settle down.

You mean my mom chasing me with bitter cough medicine wasn't a necessary part of my childhood??

C uses this Chinese herbal cough syrup. It works on Special K.
