C and Special K have been made several batches of
No Knead bread. It seems easy and Special K loves it. C said he never made bread before.
After a party for C's work, I had to spend the weekend, Monday and Tuesday in bed. The vibrations from the loud music really bothered my toe and it took me a while to figure out what the problem was.

Thanks for the recommendation about the no-knead bread. You're the third person to recommend it, so I'll have to give it a try. I like kneading, though. Always found it relaxing.

Well, that and the current big excitement about no-knead bread confuses me. I've been making my great-grandma's no-knead recipe for 20 years... I guess it just wasn't very mainstream, or something.

To me, the excitement comes from two things:
1. It takes very little working time.
2. The result is very much like the crusty "artisan" rounds that have become widely available in stores in the last five years or so.
Our first attempt was with four year old yeast (leftover from when special K's granny was helping us after special K was born) but still resembled a decent ciabatta. Not sure how to replicate THAT but special K still asks us to make the flat no-knead bread.

To repeat the flatter bread, you could try using half as much yeast! Or less, if that one's still too "fluffy". ;)
