i was going to say that i completely failed to see how this video was political and/or wrong up until the dumbasses was like "i pledge to Obama! *kisskiss*". fkin idiot.
may i just say that i felt the vid was great, until the pledging to Obama stuff. and no, i would not want my children pledging to Bush. as far as i`m concerned, my children shouldn`t be pledging to anyone, including god.
this video has no reflection on Obama himself, however. *shrugs* i`d be most pissed off at the school that showed this.
Well, I was also angry that it mentioned promoting stem cell research. That is something that is very controversial and shouldn't be touted to young kids who have no idea what a stem cell is or where they come from.
And you are right. Though most certainly inspired by the President, the video was not funded, advocated, or produced in any way by the current government. It was made by Katalyst Media, a production company co-founded by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg. Directed by Demi Moore.
But it certainly does not belong in schools as it currently stands.
This whole video was great until the "I pledge to serve Obama" lines. I mean...how is that even in league with the other shit? I personally...don't feel that Obama is doing a spectacular job as President. Steve keeps telling me to give him a break, that he walked into a mess. I understand that but still...
I am not one of those "extreme" right-wingers who believes that President Obama is a Marxist or the Devil or inherently evil in any way. I think he's doing what he thinks is best for the country. I just happen to disagree and will fight his change in any way I can (that will not get me thrown in jail.) That's the beauty of democracy.
