Genki Update

Our first tour went really well! It was so much fun, too. I really love these people. There's so much diversity and, to my surprise, I think I've learned less about Japanese culture through my Genki experience than all the other cultures in the JET community. We have Australians, New Zealanders, Canadians, Britons, and even one Korean. Coming to ( Read more... )

Yay! I'm so glad you're coming. We really need all the faces in the crowd we can get. And don't forget to clap wildly after each dance and scene. Japanese people don't clap unless other people clap! And the no clapping thing is really awkward for us. :/

The show is awesome. You're going to be so blown away. ;P

We had to clean up all the beer the next morning. It took an hour and a half. That's a good night in anyone's book, even a prude's like mine. ;P

Oh yeah, you've got the theatre bug big time. Reminds of my when I used to live at the theatre in college and high school. I was always so tired during a run of a show, but that was part of what made the whole thing fun. One time, after an essay test in my philosphy class where I sat for an hour unable to write a single word because I'd been up until 1:00 in the morning at a perfomance the night before, I swore I'd never do another play again, but I kept going back. I met my first boyfriend in a play my junior year of high school at a community theatre perfomance of "To Kill a Mockingbird". I was Scout, he was Jem. During rehearsals, the guy playing Atticus used to watch us suscpiciously and say things like, "Scout, no flirting with your brother."

lol omg ScoutxJem. I think I read that pairing in a fanfiction somewhere. ;P Creeeeepy. But hilarious at the same time.

Hey, you have a user icon now! What IS that? The left is obviously a vending machine, but who's the guy? Kind of looks like Harry Potter or David Duchovny.

That is the Doctor with a Hello Kitty TARDIS. Forgive me if you're not Doctor Who nerd like I am and all of that means nothing to you. I'm a nut for the British television!
How was the second run?! Hope it was a blast. Well, not a literal blast, like with dynamite and stuff. Ouch.
