I meant to use this time here at the office (while all the other teachers in the entire town are off having a meeting) to make up some lesson plans for elementary, but they have the Internet here, so... What can I do? I also waste entirely too much time yapping with my coworkers. If I didn't speak Japanese, I wouldn't be in this mess! Damn it all

Bummer!!! My school told me the same thing when I dropped some hints about wanting to go to Tokyo w/ my friends around then. They dropped hints right back that after tests would be the best time for vacation because I'd be so tired from how busy I'd be during exams. Seriously, I sit on my butt for most of the year, and I'm the center of the universe this one week? Makes no sense, but thems the breaks. Keep your chin up!!

I know! I pretty much just sit around all the time too and the one time I want to get up and go is the time when I absolutely can't go anywhere. What the heck is with life?

That's a great game! I'd love to use it, but my classes are kind of big. Even in the smaller schools, they put all the grades together so I usually have between 15 and 20 students.

But I may be able to make it work anyway...

Yeah, the timing really stinks. But actually I did tell them awhile ago to check to see if I could take the days off.

Anyway, I think this kind of situation is good for your interview. The asked me in my interview: "What would you do if you wanted to go away for the weekend, but your supervisor told you that you have to judge a speech contest?" Now you know what I did, you should be able to say that you could do it too.
