That's a pretty awesome dialect. I'm going to say it sometime and see if anyone can understand. I love to try out different dialects. Everyone thinks it's a riot on the days I speak Kansai-ben.
I happen to think you're a comic genius, my dear! And very cool for knowing your local "ben". I only know how to say "awesome" in Kansai-ben, but the kids get a kick out of it. Then again, they get a kick out of my lunch, my shoes, my socks, and my pink pen as well. Go figure. Maybe I'm a comic genuis too.
My ben is easy to pick up because everybody speaks it. I swear I'm going to go home and strike up a conversation with a Japanese person and they're not going to understand a word. lolz. That, or they're going to think that I was taught Japanese in a barn.
Not only was that hilarious but it proves something that I've had a sinking suspicion about this entire time.... Japanese people have no soul. Thus, that is why they didn't laugh at your joke. That also explains how one can shoot or stab them and they just merely look at you like you're just being annoying.
Japanese people have souls, they just don't use them in public. I'm sure if I were to follow these kids around as flies, I'd probably get a whole different picture.
What anime did you get this shoot/stab theory from?
Don't feel so bad. I go through the same thing with Taka. So many times I've said amusing things and all I get from Taka is a couple blinks followed by a blank stare.
Of course, he gets the same from me when he tells jokes, but more often than not they are just mean and not funny. :P

The ol' "desu ne" is "dappai" or "dappe" here.

I haven't picked up anything else.
