Marunaka, marunaka, lalala la LA!

So I did get out today. I dragged my butt down to the grocery store (my favorite one in town, Marunaka) and talked to Shizuka, one of my students from Sakawa Middle. Year 1, Class 2. I have to remember that. I met her mom and her baby cousin. Social interaction ftw. It makes me feel less like the people of this town are made out of cardboard ( Read more... )

language barrier, yay, movies

No, I draw the line at three years older than me. I've seen what it's like dating somebody way older. I don't need that. Especially the gossip in town? Kyaaaa. It would kill me.

Sometimes vegging in the apartment is a good thing. :) That's what I plan on doing today. Ahhhh.

I don't wanna go back to work! :(

Hashbrowns!! Holy crap, that's awesome. Of course, how can a potato not be awesome? By the way, it's way cool that you can walk into a video rental store and ask for your movies. I'm too deficient in my Nihon-go to brave getting an account. I just email my neighbors and borrow their movies. The "staff" sometimes answers the door in the PJs, but the service is normally pretty good.

I know! I almost died. DIED. I couldn't believe it. I wish I could send you some, but that's probably not a good idea. :( Now if only I could find steak...

Well, I never actually signed up for the video rental account. It's one thing to ask for a video, a whole other thing to ask for an account. The card is like 10 years old and all the subsequent ALTs have been using it ever since. The katakana on the name plate sound Korean. It's weird.

I probably wouldn't have an account if I didn't have one in the first place either. ;P

haha they should make a chain where the workers dress in pajamas. I'd work there so fast.
