Ah, yeah, it's a lot simpler than they make it sound/look. It's basically still turn based, but in units instead of individual groups.

Like for instance, say I have the abyss cast. I could put them into groups like luke/'guy tear/Natalia and jade/anise. Then we get into battle with the god generals! So on the field I can give commands to three teams -- use physical Attack, special physical, magic, attack items, heal, defend. Though sometimes what you can do depends on how close you are to an enemy.'

So I say, team l/g, attack! T/n magic! J/a magic! Then hit go. Then all three of my teams will engage the god general teams and use whatever attacks they have/ have mp for. I don't get to chose beyond that initial type. After everyone on both sides has taken a turn I will get another chance to input new commands.
