OOM: Room 130

As the sun sets, Veronica sits at the desk in her room, staring out the window at nothing. Though it's becoming darker in the room, she makes no move to turn on her lamp, despite the fact that soon it will be quite difficult to read the book spread open across her lap.

Truthfully, she hasn't even glanced at the book in over an hour.

A heavy knock sounds at the front door.

"Room service!"

The weight of the knock doesn't actually betray the dainty falsetto that accompanies it, because said falsetto is criminally bad. It's hard to affect a high-pitched girly voice when your normal voice is so deep and gruff.

Veronica blinks, and looks almost confused for a moment before glancing up.

Then she grins, thinly.

"Come on in."

The obviously male visitor grapples the door open and enters, confirming his terribly disguised identity. He's grinning. And bearing a plate of tasty treats!

"Howdy."

"Mike made brownies yesterday. I'm doing the home delivery rounds."

Not checking up on her at all. Nope.

"Brownies?"

Veronica swings around in her chair, her eyes narrowing slightly.

"Your sacrifice is acceptable, mortal. The gods are appeased... for now."
