I'm currently taking a break from packing up my room at university. I didn't realise quite how much I had until we started putting it in boxes. It piled up really quickly, but luckily I have a big van to take it all home it tomorrow. So the only problem will be trying to fit it all into my new small bedroom. That should be... fun.

It's an emotional ( Read more... )

It's ridiculous. It seemed like a lot of stuff in my room at university which was so much bigger than the one I have now, so when we got it all home, the whole flat seemed to be covered in boxes. It was so overwhelming. And I've spent hours tackling the mountain of things now, but there's still things everywhere.

It's so frustrating when entries get eaten like that. Sigh.

Yeah, it's tough. But this marks a new beginning, and that's kind of exciting (even if it's also really scary).

I think most people experience that they have more things than they thought when they have to move.... You really collect stuff without realizing it, apparently. Have you found anything fun you forgot you had?

Anyway, good luck with finishing up the move, is it still hot out where you live?

That's certainly true for me. When I moved into halls three years ago, all my things fit in one car. When I moved out after a year it took two. And when I moved out of my house, it took a van and a car. I don't know how I managed to collect all that stuff. Haha, yeah, I did. I found a few shirts and stuff which had escaped down the back of my wardrobe, one of which I've been looking for for months.

It's really warm, yeah. It's been about 25° for the past few days, which is less than it has been in the past few weeks at least, but still much too warm for me.

I'm taking comfort in the fact that seemingly everyone who goes to university goes through the same thing when they have to leave. I'm not the only one who seemed to gather so much stuff over my time there.

I definitely remember that feeling about being overwhelmed by all the stuff I had when packing up my dorm room several times. It seems like it shouldn't be a lot (the first time I thought it'd be a breeze to get through) but it definitely can be trippy how much you accumulate.

Sorry you have to leave and give up your independence. *hugs*

I thought it would be pretty easy to do too, but I was very wrong, haha.

It sucks. But I think once I have a car again, and I can actually get places without having to ask my mum to drive me, I'll feel a lot better :)
