[It's hard to leave his father behind while he's sick and injured, but he can't stay, either- not when Len's every indication of discomfort is a reminder of his own mistakes.
Mistakes can be learned from, however. Some of them can even be fixed.
[Ho hum. What an experiment that was. Interesting to see who reacted and how. It would have been more interesting with bait, but... it was all he could do for now.
KaITO is in the neighborhood, poking at the remains of his turrets with his foot. A lot of damage caused by sharp blades. Some were torn into pieces. He debated picking up the scraps to reuse in a different project.]
[There you are. He's been planning this confrontation; after all, he doesn't want a repeat of the last time they fought. Now that he's finally spotted the target, he's not going to waste a possible advantage by announcing his presence; after all, he's given it enough warnings. It's more than past time to make good on them.
He's slightly out of practice, but he still remembers how to move quietly, without engaging the gears in his joints. Carefully, he begins to creep up behind the other...]
[He doesn't seem to notice his stalker. Instead, he moves on from his location towards another pile of turrets. Two over here. Sliced into pieces by a blade.
He bends down to pick up a metal part, examining the damage...
...but only for a moment. Keeping it in hand, he quickly moves onto the next pile.]
[And here he was going to poke the pile with the metal stick. Oh well. He doesn't -- can't, really -- react fast enough to catch himself, landing on the junk with a crunch.]
[It connects. KaITO grits his teeth as he turns his face to lessen the impact. He grabs Kaito's ankle firmly to hold it in place.]
How rude. You didn't even make an appointment.
[He quickly grabs Kaito's leg with his other hand and tries to curl up with the leg, rolling. He's trying to trip up the other man's balance... or just leave a KaITO stuck on his foot.]
[it works perhaps too well- Kaito stumbles and then deliberately crashes on top of him with his knees and elbows set to take the brunt of the fall, trying to use his weight as a weapon]
[the blow catches him solidly under the collarbone and he hisses, partly out of pain but mostly out surprise that he could feel it (he never thought he would regret healing)-
he aims an elbow at KaITO's midsection in retaliation and grabs after his wrist with the other arm.]
[Enough. Enough of this stupid grappling. Enough of any representation of dignity. He refuses to be overwhelmed by this stupid, stupid, sad excuse of a specimen.]
Mistakes can be learned from, however. Some of them can even be fixed.
He keeps that in mind when he goes hunting.]

Oh. It's you. [He predicted retaliation sooner or later. He pushes himself onto his elbows.] How have you been?

What, you haven't been observing that for yourself? I'm surprised.

I have been very busy, as you can see.
A lot of data to gather.
A lot of plans to make.

Consider any further plans you might have to be cancelled.
[and he pulls back his leg to kick KaITO squarely in the face]

KaITO doesn't pause, even with the heavy brute weighing him down. He grits his teeth in anger and tries to punch. Hard. Anywhere.]
