Well, in Alaska, there's emergency applications for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Women and Children support, and a couple of other things like Foodstamps or General Assistance Relief. But, it would have required lots of phone calls, waiting in line, gathering paperwork, etc.

What it comes down to, is that the "what ifs" don't matter, because they never were. You made a very responsible decision and you should be proud of that.
