It's been hashed and rehashed and so on and so forth already in many other journals, but I just need to pitch in my own $0.02, because reading through some of the complaints has left me on the verge of popping multiple blood vessels

Forgive me for being out of the loop, but.. what? What's going on? What are the fans bitching about? I think I've completely missed whatever is going on, but everyone seems to be angry about it.
Well, the long and short of it is that people have been bitching en masse about the L&E album. Bitching about the quality, bitching about the poem, bitching about Taylor singing lead on everything, so on and so forth and probably more than I'm even touching on right now. Just bitching. And it's all Hanson's fault. All of it. Because, y'know, they're fake scumbag assholes who have totally fucked up and let us down. Yup.
And again, I'm definitely not being mature about this, but yeah. I just got pissed off from reading other people's journals. I know they're all entitled to their opinions, but I just got pissed off. Heh.
Kit recommend I read this and you not only hit it right on the nail, you split the nail in two.
I can't believe just how much the fans take EVERY SINGLE THING so seriously. I mean, I used to use this to my advantage on hanson.net. I started up rumours just because the fans would believe me. I mentioned once that I had heard Zac had eloped with Kate and there were PAGES of people acting like I had just announced the end of the world. Jessy Chrissy.
It was the bitching about the new album that were put up on the MORNING of it coming out. I got my copy a few days later, and suddenly it didn't feel special. I didn't have a chance to take the music in and enjoy it before everyone was crying and bitching and such.
So I have quit the hanson community for the time being. It was either that or start shooting. =)
Aw, well thank you for stopping by and commenting! :)
And I completely agree - I can't believe how much fans take things so seriously either. It's always baffled me, ever since I got involved in the Hanson fan community back in 1999. I have never in my life witnessed such a large group of my own peers taking a band so seriously. Whether that's because I wasn't paying attention to other bands or what, I don't know. But it still remains that I've never seen this kind of crazy shit before. I'd even dare to say that boy band fandoms are more civilized and sane than this one tends to be.
Blah. I should probably quit the Hanson community, too. But it's almost like a bad car wreck...you can't stop watching. Grr. Stupid. LOL
my 2 cents - i like the cd. don't love it. love the covers. think the poem is bad. love the dvd. don't like all the bitching. don't think they're doing us a huge favour by releasing a live album, i paid for my copy after all. don't think they're saving the music industry. love the rush of seeing a hanson cd in the shop, picking it up and going to the counter and buying it, watching the hmv guy's expression (curious this time, paused and looked at the back), opening the packaging and poring over the artwork and inlay on the bus.
*nods* From what I've heard, I'll probably like the album quite a bit, but it won't be a favorite. But we'll see. I liked the poem, personally, but to each their own, of course

What the hell. I so posted a reply to this. Dammit. Did you get an email sent to you about a reply to this comment, Lizzy? I had a good paragraph or two. Shit all

I'm sorry that I didn't reply to this until now, Erin, but thank you for your comment. :)
I totally agree with you - if it weren't for the music itself, the fans alone would be enough to drive me off.
Thank you! I hope that you're doing well, honey - I haven't talked with you in a while, so hopefully we'll get a chance to catch up again soon. :) Take care, until then. Much love!
