She leaned back then, resting her head against his shoulder, and closed her eyes. Her hair tickled his nose maddeningly, but he didn't move. She sighed, whispered, “Traveling with you...”
“I know,” he said, and finally looked out the window. Galaxies, rushing by. “Me too.”
Oh, this was lovely, and pretty much how I expected Rose to act in the alternate Torchwood. No one stops Rose from getting what she wants, be it chips or the Doctor.
With that, I particularly enjoyed the scene when the whole office waits for Rose as she comes back alone from an adventure/expedition without the Doctor. He saw her grow through Series 2 into a leader (not just a companion) and, by the end of Series 4, you really see how she had changed into a woman who knew exactly who she was and people follow that. So seeing/hearing the Torchwood office saying "Fuck if they were letting that happen" was dear and true.
Other than that marvelous scene, I enjoyed every bit of it. Thank you (and very much true to the picture. Lovely).

It makes me so happy to hear that. That's the part I was worried about, and I'm glad you got out of it what I was trying to get across.
And I'm glad you found my description of Rose's transformation believable. I think that's such an interesting aspect of her character, and I wish we'd gotten more of it in the show.
Thank you that you for your thoughtful comments! Much appreciated! :)
Aww this was so sweet! I liked it a lot. I really liked the narrative style you used, especially in the first few sections, with the narrator one step removed. I liked the detail that Torchwood is surprised by a happy, laughing Rose, and I liked the idea of them jumping at all the faraway assignments, too; they would.
She sighed, whispered, “Traveling with you...”

Hey, thank you!! I'm glad you liked the narration, I was kinda trying it out and by the time I'd proof read it a thousand times I thought it might be terrible.
