SNOW DAY!!!!!

I.  Chicago was hit by the snowpocalypse last night, you guys.  Me and boyfriend went out for food and supplies just in time, because the walk home was a little sketchy.  So I made spaghetti from scratch, and the snow covered up the bottom half of our windows (basement apartment) and then we watched Babylon 5 (THE MOST EXQUISITELY DEPRESSING SHOW ( Read more... )

"If I don't come back, you can assume I've drowned myself in a snowdrift to avoid more homework."

with work like that I think I'd do the same. I really hate "corporate speak" which is what that nonsense sounded like to me. It's all bull and makes no real sense, and is just an excuse to use 200 words when 20 would do the job just fine, lol.

As for B5, not only have I watched it, several times over the years in fact, I bought hubby the complete box-set of DVD's for Christmas. And when I say complete, I'm talking all seasons of B5, all the movies, and the spin-off series Crusade :) So, erm, yeah I am familiar with it, lol

Oh my God, it's so exciting that you're that acquainted with Babylon 5. I'm going to watch "The Deconstruction of Falling Stars" right now, and then start powering through season 5. I love this show so much it's unreal. I have no idea how I've never seen it before now. And I'm pretty sure John and Delenn are the most precious couple ever. They're so geeky when they flirt, it's adorable. They kind-of remind me of Ten and Rose, in a way, with all the grinning and giggling.

I love season 2 (of B5) because it's so obvious that they're into each other, and I'm fixated on the idea of the rest of the characters watching them fall in love.

How are the movies, anyways?

I'll be honest, I'm nowhere near the fan that hubby is, but as I said I have watched it all, more than once.

And yes, they really are a ridiculously cute couple aren't they? I can certainly see the Doctor/Rose comparison too. I loved how he finally confessed his feelings for her the first time, because he doesn't actually say I love you, but what he does say is far more romantic.

Apologies if this is a spoiler for you as off hand I can't recall where it fits in the time-line, and apologies for no doubt misquoting too, lol, but he says something like "I can no longer imagine my life without you in it" which I thought was just beautiful.

Haven't watched the movies in a while, but hubby is working his way through the final series at the moment, so I'll be watching them again soon if I join him. From what I can recall the movies aren't as good as the series was storyline wise, but I still enjoyed them.

Lol I remember Scarecrow & Mrs King from yeeeears ago when it was still in reruns on the networks. I liked it!

How did your interview go, btw?

Scarecrow and Mrs. King is the beeeeeeeest! I've watched like 16 episodes in a week. The episodes are always like..."Lee gets shot and Amanda has to take care of him in a cabin in the woods." It's glorious.

Interview...ah...that thing. It went really really terribly, and I didn't get the job. Which blows. They were horrified to find out that I don't have a car, or a driver's license, and they said it was a "safety and productivity concern." But mainly it felt like, "you're not a real person because you don't drive and we're not hiring you."

I can't even get an unpaid position in my field, so that's concerning. We'll see. :)

YAY FOR SNOW DAYS! I live in Mid-Michigan, and the meteorologist were all going on about how bad the snowstorm was going to be, and then we ended up with anywhere from 6-10 inches. Compared to Chicago's storm, that's nothing. :P But we got a snow day out of it anyways, so I spent yesterday cleaning up my basement for a Superbowl party I'm throwing this Sunday.

Yeah Superbowl party! I'm hoping to just watch the game without having to keep track of company, but someone always seems to show up. What's your team? Packers?

I'm glad you got a snow day too! You know, it was pretty bad here, but it wasn't as bad as they acted like it was going to be. I was expecting to have to burrow out of my apartment or something.
