[ iv ] † Coalesce

The varied reactions to this new weather pattern are intriguing. I have observed people bombarding others with packed spheres of snow, yet the cuffs do not register this as hostile. It has served to make many introspective judging from privatized messages and others... infantile.

weather, observations, snow

Oh? The great Warden himself doesn't know about snowball fights? Such a shame, such a pity. Would Warden like me to show him what this is all about~?

Conflicts are supposed to be restricted by the cuffs.

But it isn't a conflict! Usually just a friendly fight, with no harm meant. No conflict at all, and in fact, I've seen it used between best friends, even lovers, as a special occasion~! How does Warden take to this idea? Or would Warden rather curl up with a warm blanket and a good cup of tea~?

It seems a rather frigid way of expression affection.

My quarters are sufficiently heated, thank you.

...It's called a snow ball. You don't really hurt anyone with it, it's just for fun. Fun, you know, that thing you never seem to have?

Did the suggestion of you having fun break your brain or something? You know, you're going to give yourself a heart attack one day by the way you act.

My brain remains intact. And such an physical debility would be impossible.

Those are called snowballs and snowball fights are a fun past time for many places. I suppose that was something to never develop here.

Hello Warden-san. My name is Belldandy.

Such frivolities have long since given way to the preservation of this world.

Yes. A recent addition. I am aware of all the resident's names and places of origin.

Really? That's quite sad. Even with seriousness of war, there needs to be a time for some happiness, or the hope will dim. Hopefully this war will be done with soon.

You have quite the memory.

In a way, this world does still hold hope, or none of you would be here. That the Keepers constructed the Consulo and even now continue to summon more fighters proves they believe it will be to our benefit.

It is expected of me.

I'm sure it could be remedied if someone chose to put a rock in one of them.

That approach would seem to imply injury.

Which would likely trigger the cuffs. Snow can't hurt you unless it's hiding something harder.

Conversely, it produces many ill-advised states such as hypothermia and frostbite.

It's fun! You can make angels an' snowmen in it!

Haven't you ever tried it, Mr. Warden?

I assure you, the snow has no such metaphysical properties.

I have not.

What does me-ta-phys-i-cal mean, Mr. Warden?

You should come play with us! It'll be fun!

... It means, special.

I think not.
