Now that my powers of speech have been returned, let us ponder a question.

Naturally, you are all more than aware of my preferred subject of conversation, nay, the very thing I dedicate all to.

War.

War for war's sake. War for the sake of the joy it brings. I will settle for any goals, any enemy, to obtain my means ( Read more... )

evil, war

Ahh, but there is a difference between fighting and war, little one.

Fighting may be a game, but for war, you must put your very soul into it.

Do we need a reason anymore? What about war for war's sake? There's nothing in this world left preserving.

It's all trash that needs to be incinerated.

War to end the world, Herr Takasugi?

War to burn the world. It seems quite like you.

oneeyedbeast April 20 2008, 00:35:11 UTC
Of course. It would be futile to protect it any longer. The only path leads to destruction.

Then it seems your path lies very clear. Or rather, your destination.

For to burn the world is no easy task.

Power. Because a world without war is so boring.

Ahhh, a very traditional answer.

A call to power, but how do we define power?

Reply

chosenbychoice April 20 2008, 00:24:25 UTC
I'm a very traditional girl.

The ability to control. People, nature, fate, power is the ability to control.

warconductor April 20 2008, 01:10:33 UTC
Then we must assume that there are many, many types of power.

Power through violence, power through talk, power through technology, power through magic.

There are many paths to power, thought all can be brought to the battleground.

Everything.

Now that is an interesting answer, Herr Urahara.

What kind of man goes to war over everything?

Or, rather to say, what is everything to such a man?

[[OOC...Weird.]]

vivememorleti April 20 2008, 01:59:06 UTC
Not a very nice man, that's for sure.

And well, I suppose that everything is everything important to him.

[ooc: randomly logs me out sometimes, too. :/]

warconductor April 20 2008, 02:24:12 UTC
Then do you think me not a very nice man? For it could be said I will go to war over everything.

So you will go to war to protect things important to you?

Or to obtain?

Is your war defensive or proactive?

I wouldn't expect the word 'joy' to be used in the same sentence as war.

Reply

warconductor April 20 2008, 01:07:49 UTC
Ahh, but do you not know the joy that is to be found in war? The beauty in the chorus of agonized voices, playing time and time again in the rat-tat-tat of the machine gun?

It is a symphony, an orchestra for all the senses.

But you have not answered the question, Hei.

What would you go to war for?

contractorly April 20 2008, 01:13:11 UTC
Tell me, have you ever fought in a war yourself? Or have you solely played conductor from your marble platform?

--To protect her.

I see no reason to answer your question.

Mein herr, I fought in the black uniform of the Waffen-SS of the Third Reich.

Of course I fought. I mowed the troops down, watched them scream. I lost as Berlin burnt to the ground, Russian troops overpowering and overrunning me.

And I lay dying as the blood flowed and the devil made me an offer.

I'm certain that, sooner or later, I will find the answer anyway.
