[Locked to Time Lords] Note B97

Nov 11, 2008 20:46

I have designed a pathogen capable of consuming brain tissue at a rate of 2.80 kilograms per minute, lying dormant for up to four days, and withstanding the influx of energy consistent with theoretical morphogenic influx phenomena. As I would prefer for obvious reasons not to leave this a universal pathogen, it would help had I a genetic sample ( Read more... )

What makes you think any of us are carrying around bits of Thane?

It had been my experience that there is very little which you will not carry around.

What, you couldn't have just scraped up a bit of his face when it dripped on your floor?

I did. That sample was denatured enough to be virtually useless.

Oh no. Oh, NO.

You're not doing this. Still morally unsound, still... There are other options.

Options which have been attempted and found untenable.

So of course, you go straight for the brain-eating microbes.

So sorry, no genetic samples, no interest in getting any, and a great deal of interest in NOT condemning someone, Thane or not, to having his brain perpetually eaten away.

If we can separate him from the morphogenic field, we can kill him permanently. We've made substantial progress towards that goal already. It's a cleaner solution.

Really?

That will be cleaner, yes. If you can complete that progress, we should implement it. I will continue to refine this pathogen and prepare to implement it as a second resort.

Torchwod has placed one of their agents with him who has means of accessing the suppressed consciousness and turning its expertise against Instagur Thane. There is a possibility that we may be able to resolve this without resorting to your pathogen.

I doubt the ability of a human to succeed where thus far the best efforts of the Time Lords have failed. Would this Torchwood agent be able to obtain a genetic sample and bring it back safely?

Such would be theoretically possible, but extremely dangerous. I would not volunteer her for such a task.

If you will be in contact with her, I would ask that you bring up the possibility so that you need not volunteer her for anything.
