Comparing Elisabeth cast lists

Making comparisons is so fun. ;-) I noticed that whoever updated the new Yukigumi Elisabeth page with shinko roles was remiss in adding the Black Angels (;-P), and the cast lists page needed updating too. So while I was doing that, and looking across all the shinjin kouen casts, I noticed a coincidence pattern

So far I have only seen clips of the other versions, but I agree, I know already I will always love the Star one best. :)
There's no way that there could ever be a better Death than Mariko or a better Lucheni than Rika... :P

This is funny, because Mariko!Death and Lucheni!Rika would probably be at the bottom of my lists. ^^;;; But I did like Noru as Franz, and Bun-chan is extremely well-suited to Rudolf. <3

Someone was remiss in posting the shinjin kouen Black Angels because they weren't posted with the initial cast list! (I'd noticed the same and went to the website to check, but the cast for those roles hadn't been written yet) They must have added them the next day or two after it was posted.

I think most people will agree with me that the first version you see of something often sticks in your mind as being the best. ;-)
Ah, but Hanagumi was my first (I got the DVD two weeks before I got the Sora DVD ^_^), but Sora is, by far, my favorite!

Of course, I may have been biased by my favorite YouTube clips... >_>;;

Eventually, when I get to watch Yuki's version, I'll probably make a list of my favorite characters in each role.

Annnnyways, about the subject at hand, I am also severely biased when it comes to Elisabeth (not that I'm biased towards any particular Rudolf... not at all... >_>). I'm so inspired to make a list now too after I see Yuki's :D

I've decided I need to rewatch Hanagumi Elisabeth, and maybe Tsukigumi too, before I officially decide on a list. I have to give more love to the people I ignored before. <3

Well, after watching enough of Sora's and Hanagumi's to compare, I've come to this conclusion:

Hanagumi has faaaaaaar better camerawork and production. Osa's portrayal of Death was also better than Zunko's, although nobody can touch Zunko in terms of singing. Asa's Lucheni was also pretty wonderful.

Everything else, Sora pwned. Wao's Franz was so much more kingly and dignified, and the chemistry with Elisabeth was so much better. You could really believe that he was really in love with her. And the little touches, like Wao leaning her hand on Elisabeth's door as he wants to see her again at the end of Act 1. <3

Komu makes the best and cutest Rudolph, and who can touch Hana at being Elisabeth? She is THE Elisabeth. And Wataru wins out by just a little as being the better Lucheni, if only because Wataru was better at being crazy. XD And have I mentioned Cast Chemistry? <3 <3

I'm always intrigued by how people react to the different portrayals of Death. I initially found Osa's interpretation to be too "smiley" and preferred Zunko's powerful coldness... but I've vowed to go back and watch Hanagumi Elisabeth again now that I've come to terms with Proper Osa Love. ;-)

I was a little worried about O-Hana's status as "the" Elisabeth when I watched Hoshigumi's version - Shiraki Ayaka is a force to be reckoned with. *__* But Hana still came out on top. :-D

Wao will always be the perfect Franz for me; there's just no question there. <3

And actually I didn't get much feeling from Asa's Lucheni, as opposed to Wataru's "batshit crazy" or Kiriyan's "semi-drunk". ^^;;

I now officially love every 'sienne who has played Rudolf, so it's hard to choose... but like I said, the first person I saw in the role is almost always my favorite. <3

But sadly, every production probably has better camerawork than Soragumi's. T___T I will curse those cameramen until the day I die.

We really DO need to come up with that Soragumi Bad Camerawork Drinking Game (special things must surely be done for the shots swishing skirts and the shot of the boots. Oh yeah and the FREAKING WIDE SHOT OF THE KISS)

Never heard it put that way, but O_O it fits better than anything I've heard yet O_O

My impressions of Various Deaths:
Hoshi - drunken wounded animal Death? Don't get me wrong. Mariko Can act, she can dance... but dear god... the voice..... *shudder* I just couldnt get enough of a feel on her version because of it

Sora - Snarly, powerful and vicious Death <3 <3

Hana - Slightly Maniacal and Manipulative Death

Tsuki - Sensual Death? Saeko was just too.... soft and touchy feely for me X_X Little too seductive ?
