Interesting post.

So I went and watched the 2003 hoshigumi clip and the one from the original movie. I have to say, I like both Tani and Tomu. Yes, Tomu had too many pixie sticks, but I like it that way.

It's been so long since I watched the 2003 hoshi version, but I agree that Tani is pretty much playing herself and that it works really well.

For the record, I thought that (for the soragumi version) "Make 'Em Laugh" came off much better live than on DVD *shrug*

Can you please continue this series? And maybe the next part can cover otokoyaku in drag? ;) Barring that, I'd like to hear your opinions on Touko!Don vs. Tani!Don.

Yeah, I worry about sounding as if I didn't like Tomu's Cosmo... because I did, I just liked Tani's more. ^^;; Tani playing herself means it came off really natural, whereas Tomu tried too hard at times, I guess?

See my comment on watching people in the background. ;)

I did say this was only Part I, didn't I? ;) I have tons to say on the Dons and Linas as well. ^^

See my comment on watching people in the background. ;)

I pretty much had Hokushou Tunnel Vision while watching it live, and I'll admit that I often put down my opera glasses during non-Lina scenes (using opera glasses plus my regular glasses REALLY gives me a headache after a while, and I liked to conserve my "time" to when Micchan was on stage) Anyway, the point of all that was that I noticed a lot of things on DVD that I didn't notice in the theater. It's been fun rewatching <3

Funny enough, I loved Tomu better than Tani. Yet, I still cringe at Tomu's slight lack of comedic timing which seems much more obvious in the dvd than it was on stage. Granted I will also fully admit to watching the babies in the back after the first two times. I was enjoying that drama Tomoe was causing in the back with her mop.

I swear I think I need to sit down and see the original Singin' In the Rain. Maybe watching it in full I will find some appeal to it.

I think Tomu has a general problem with timing, seeing as she couldn't jerk her head at the right moment when being conked by a frying pan either. X3

Tomoe's drama! Losing her script book and blowing kisses when she got it back! So many things to miss about the live show ;______;

I swear I think I need to sit down and see the original Singin' In the Rain...

YES. YOU DO. I KEEP TELLING YOU THIS. :P

See, Tani's Cosmo is kind of Tani playing herself.
yeah i totally agree on this. ^_^
i think she somehow studied Cosmo character, she is almost as energetic as the 50's movie. i like the winking at the audience at the end of her scene. =^^=

i like Tomu!Cosmo, too. she has this mischievous expression all the time. hahahaha

whenever i watched the Sora version for the nth time... i felt that Tani and Tomu are really like Don and Cosmo in real life than Touko and Tani.

Gay!Tomoe. gahhh i really love her character there... ^^ hahahaha

Tani does do a good wink. ;D But Tomu's mischievousness is so much different than Tani's! It's fascinating. *.*

And of course, much love for Gay!Tomoe!!! <3333

Though I will admit that I haven't seen her in all that many shows, I have to say that Cosmo is my absolute favourite of all the roles that I've seen her in. You're right, it's just so natural, and the range and style worked really well for her voice.

Haha, I'm guessing the implied subject here is "Tani". X3 But yay, people agree with me! ^^

Oh, shoot, yeah. I meant Tani. Clearly I need to get some sleep. I love her Cosmo, though I have to say I liked all the cape swishing she did in 12th Night. But then, I kind of have this thing for capes.

I really do love all of them in their own way. Tomu is so sugar crazed and ADD and Tani as Cosmo is so much Touko's wingman, which makes me giggle endlessly in it's own way.
