translation of a different kind
So princesslucia caught onto the fact that I have nothing better to do than translate at work and sent me a couple of pieces written by Sakurano Ayane for Kageki. Specifically, her February column which is decorated with cute lizard drawings like the ones Lucia posted here. This is only the first part of the column, and at first I was only going to email this to Lucia, but it's just too cute not to share. (I tried to recreate all the little emoticons as best I could, but I ended up just writing things in brackets for a few of them. ^^;;)
~Ayane Report~
Hello everyone!! Have you been well♥? This is the February "Ayane Report". As I write this, I am in the midst of rehearsals for Kurotokage / Tuxedo Jazz. I've hidden my notebook in my rehearsal bag, and each day my eyes sparkle with the thought that something interesting might happen during breaks◊.
Of course I think everyone would be glad to hear stories of Osa-san (Haruno), so I have been observing her more and more. Although I mostly went unnoticed, one day when I tried telling her "I've been observing you, but I can't find much to report for 'E to Bun'", Osa-san crossed her legs and said "That's right. Because I'm perfect." .....Yes. I was smitten. *__* [this emoticon actually has hearts for eyes ;-)]
For that reason, based on Kurotokage Osa-san drew a lizard-chan for me. Not only that, but she practiced a lot and drew twelve rough sketches!!! I was impressed◊◊ All that time, she was saying "aahh~~ that's ugly~~" about her own pictures and kept churning them out. And when she finished, she knit her brows, saying "why did it have to be a lizard? A cuter picture would be better" =3 [sighing emoticon] and drew a page of flowers and hearts♥ for me. I even received drawings from the upperclassmen, but...
* Mine is awful. [tear emoticon] It's ruined.
* Mattsu-san (Misuzu) said "I'm on the same level as Ayane ^_^" and I was shocked. ...Mattsu-san!!! >_<=3 [exasperated face? I'm not even sure XD;]
* Sou-san's lizard somehow looks like it's dancing happily, doesn't it?♪ It's "cute". [she uses the English word]
* Yuu-san (Matobu)'s lizard(?), according to Osa-san, is a "raccoon". So that it wouldn't be published in "E to Bun", Yuu-san sneakily crumpled hers up and threw it away, but I took it out. [victory sign] Everyone, thank you for your cooperation ^.^
EDIT: Immediately after posting this I was sent out to check the mail, and I saw a lizard run by. I was amused. XD
