But teabags chugged along for so long before PG Tips (SINGLE P IF YOU PLEASE) whipped out the pyramid! How can it be the correct shape when it's still so new they're bragging about it??
(possibly they weren't actually the first to do pyramids, but they're the first I remember, so.)
It depends on the sort of tea, I think. Regular black tea seems right in square bags, while herbals and frooty teas seem more at home in circular ones. Earl Grey teabags are most importantly kept in the bin for they are vile rubbish.
Mine are usually square OR rectangular, though I'm actually not to picky about the shape. Circular and pyramidal can be fun too. ALL TEA IS CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION~
Square and Circular are both correct, but I picked Square, because it is more classic.
(Also, by 'square' I actually mean 'very slightly off square but not enough to be very rectangle-y'. You know. The shape tea bags are supposed to be. Genuinely square tea bags may be a little odd.)
I swear I have/have had genuinely square teabags...! Haven't I? Now I am going to end up really thoroughly examining every quadrilateral teabag I come across.
I feel like I haven't used a square tea bag, but maybe I have and if I saw one again I'd just go "Oh, right, of course, that is a perfectly cromulent tea bag". But I can't shake the feeling that a perfect square would look odd.
Ideally tea comes loose-leaf for me (& I tend do dump a couple heavy pinches in the bottom of a cup, pour hot water over the top and refresh the water until the tea taste disappears).
Otherwise, rectangular or trapezoidal for lower-end bagged teas, round for higher-end ones.

My life's aspiration for which I am going to learn Spanish is swimming with whale sharks an Honduras, and also swimming with great whites in Mexico, and maybe also reef sharks in the Caribbean. But the reef sharks can be swum with without learning Spanish. (I've been watching Shark Week since before I was born (mom caught Shark Week 1986 while I was in utero, if the stories are correct) and they are my favorite-favorite <3)
