Holy shit the idea of Chad as Cap is frankly terrifying. I just can't reconcile squinty-eyed womanising pot-smoker with Ultimate American Hero, and yes, I'm aware that Chad doesn't actually play that role in anything other than J2 fic and real life but I can't imagine him being anything else.

Jensen, though...I try not to think too much about Jensen getting it, because the idea is just too OMG FUCKING AWESOME for words.

I'm not sure I would be able to take Chad seriously as Captain America AT ALL - although you never know. I guess he could surprise us with some non-squinty acting! - but the idea of it is AMUSING ME SO MUCH ALL THE SAME.

As to Jensen, I don't even know anything about Captain America and I STILL KIND OF WANT HIM TO GET THE ROLE.

If they were making a Lol-tastic Cpt. America, it would have to be Chad. Captain America does tequila shots with Vegas hookers! Captain America builds a shrine to beer out of old cans! Captain America smacks two of his closest friends into engaging in a homosexual affair and so furthers the course of true love! (Which seems to be Chad's main role in fic, other than comic relief.)

Jensen getting it would be so awesome.

Runaways (at least the first three, Brian-K-Vaughn-written volumes) is my FAVORITE. It takes place in the Marvel Universe, but is pretty much independent from big stuff (although CAPTAIN AMERICA does show up, allowing me to imagine Jensen Ackles interacting with Chase Stein, and thusly MAKING MY LIFE) and you don't need to be familiar with the Marvel universe to get it.

Also, if you want GIRLY AND FUN my other favorite is Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, which is pretty much Spider-Man rewritten as a sappy high school AU from MJ's POV with lots of INTRIGUE and SECRET IDENTITIES and SOAP OPERA TWISTS. Also it's super cute.

SHOULD YOU WANT TO TRY EITHER OF THOSE OUT BEFORE BUYING, I MIGHT KNOW SOME PLACES TO OBTAIN SOME PREVIEW ISSUES.

OHHH I have heard things about Runaways in the past! Good things! But it's bloody expensive and doesn't seem to be at all available secondhand in the UK, so I think I will look for it in libraries first. OR PERHAPS ENGAGE IN YOUR POSSIBLE KNOWLEDGE OF PREVIEW ISSUES.

FABLES. It's about fairy tale characters living in modern day New York and it's full of battles and awesome ladies (see Rose Red in my icon) and kindofmaybebestiality (the big bad wolf is totes hot in human form, though) and just plain awesomeness!

Otherwise, definitely read Sandman. It's my favorite. When you're done with that, read Lucifer because dude, it's all about Lucifer and how awesome he is! But it's based off of Sandman!Lucifer.

I HAVE HEARD OF THAT ONE! I used to play in a panfandom RP with some character from Fables and I always thought they seemed pretty cool. Also it doesn't seem to be quite as pricey as other recommendations so far.

Lucifer is another one I have heard of too, via 42footprints. Why is it all so expensiiiive? /o\
