IT IS SO MAGIC. Last time I went through a period of obsession with it, I ended up creating this whole epic 'verse crossing The Faculty with MiB and a boyband called Busted. AND I DIDN'T WRITE ANY OF THAT, EITHER. FML.

omg! The site I read it on is long, long gone as I was in the fandom like five years ago, so there is no way of verifying save by hunting down RR and QUESTIONING HIM, but. Supposedly in the original ending, everyone who'd been infected by the alien died, leaving Casey and Zeke the only ones alive, driving off together. But apparently, if it's true, the test audiences didn't like it and RR changed it to the ending we now have. I REALLY, REALLY HOPE IT'S A TRUE RUMOUR. (AND I WISH IT HAD BEEN THE ENDING, TOO.)
