I've heard that it makes the program crash. idk, it might be a fake rumour, but I'm not sure I want to risk it.

(If you know of any riskless ones, then... well.)

I had a crack aaaages ago when I was still on a PC and could use OC. (This is the only way in which my Mac has failed me. *sob*) Anyway, way-back-when, the crack worked fine for me. Lemme cast my net out and see what I can find. :)

Ask scary! That sucks. I used to have PaintShop Pro a couple years ago and I don't even remember why but it's been gone from my computer a long time now. It's very sad when I want to make things. I use The Gimp now. It's free if you wanted to try it out.
