After spending some time chatting with Dinah, Claire took a walk into town to pick up dinner and then walked up to the fourth floor.

She knocked on Jon's door, a bag of Chinese takeout in her other hand.

Jon opened the door almost on the first knock and grinned when he saw the bag. "Have I mentioned today how much I adore you?"

Because he did, really. She had brought food. And he was going to step aside and let her and the food in the room.

"Not for at least twenty-four hours," Claire said with a grin. "You're overdue."

"What's the fine?" He found some paper plates and a couple of bottles of water in the mini fridge, though he couldn't remember putting the plates in there.

"Because I'll pay double if I have too."

"Mmmmm, I demand kisses," Claire said. "Also, why are your plates in the fridge?"
