Sam wasn't feeling that much better that he should have been leaving the house and facing down vegetables, but he knew that it would be better for Claire to find out about Peter from him than from the inevitable grapevine of Fandom. He wasn't sure what he'd say as he knocked on her door, but he hoped the right words would come.

"It's open," Claire called, too lazy to get up and assuming it was Jon.

Sam opened the door but only peered inside, not wanting to go in until Claire knew it was him. "Hey. Can I come in?"

"Of course, Sam," Claire said, sitting up and putting aside her magazine. She smiled at him. "What's up?"

If Jon had known what had happened before Sam's visit, he would have said that he was glad he had classes today. But he didn't know about the emo he was about to walk into.

"Knock knock. Everyone decent?"

Claire opened the door, her cheeks streaked with tears, and immediately rested her head against Jon's chest.

This was not the reaction that Jon had expected, and he reacted quickly by wrapping his arms around her and holding her close. "Okay, what happened?"

"Peter," she managed. "And Nathan."

Dinah had gone to shower after the Great Veggie Invasion, getting pepper and carrot and tomato juice off herself before she felt like a soup. She wandered in, still drying her hair. "Hey, Roomie. How's your week been going?"

"Not good," Claire said, sniffling. "Not good at all."

Dinah stopped, surprised, the dropped her towel on her chair and sat down next to Claire. "Why? What's happened? Can I help?"

Claire shook her head. "No. It's Peter. And Nathan."
