On matching a house to the furniture

Jun 03, 2007 01:03

After years of leaking ceilings, withheld air conditioning and the towing of guest's vehicles, is it wrong that what most excites me about the idea of home ownership is the opportunity to create a poker den?

home ownership, poker, apartment

You should move to the San Francisco Bay Area - shitty 2 bedroom homes for $760k+! A steal!

Virginia's 11th is the wealthiest congressional district in the country. Trust me, housing isn't exactly a steal here either.

are you really ready to take the plunge?

I'm a big boy now.

But I don't want to mow a lawn.

I've been thinking about it for months; but I don't like doing the work of looking for one.

nearby, or elsewhere?

Umm, no... I'm not planning on moving to Canada.

ahh. would a really good realtor be able to help reduce that hassle?

canada couldn't handle you, or some such comment.

I think it would be hard not to love a house more than my penthouse apartment in the ghetto. At the very least, any questionable carpetting decisions will be my own.

i love having my own place. and i can make as much noise as i want. i just have to mow the yard and make sure the roof doesn't fall in...

Wait, am I not supposed to make as much noise as I want right now?

I just figured if my neighbors had issues with the wet smacking and screams of gay sex they'd have knocked on the wall.

Regardless, the lawn mowing is the biggest issue I have right now. It makes a condo more tempting, but that would restrict my options to penthouses (I insist on being on top).

You can always go grassless altogether (low maintenance, eco-friendly, draught resistant terraced landscaping) or I once read something about penny grass... apparently it only grows to a finite length with no need for regular upkeep.

OR... you could hire me as your landscaper/gardener. I dig that shit...

Hurry up and get your house before Christmas. That'll make buying Christmas presents an easier task for me.

I don't think a fully stocked walk-in bar meets our Christmas spending constraints.
