As I trudge through past LJ entries updating tags, I cannot resist the urge to comment on the absurdity of comparing the apparent perceptions of the humorless assholes who hampered my mother's early attempts at dog adoption with the reality that is the puppy's life ( Read more... )

I used to be intrigued by dog love, jerking off to a lot of erotic fiction. But then I saw a video and it just looked sad.

why doesnt the dog share the bed with both your parents?? thats what my dog does i think.

well in reality the dog sleeps nights with my little brother and mornings with my father, not sure if she sleeps with mom, but she def spends the afternoon cuddled on the couch. damn that dog sleeps alot.

Bella also eats only human food my mother has been known to cook for the dog while the rest fend for themselves haha. she also has a cat who spend the night with mom. my dad works nights so thats why they dont share bed much

There is no room on the bed if both my parents are in it because the space between them is entirely consumed by a wall of pillows that runs the entire length, intended to protect my mother from my father's violent outbursts in the middle of the night. In the past, he has angrily kicked her in the grips of nightmares.

your response to a comment in the post you linked stated your mother needed a dog of a "particular size" that she could "lift and care for...with her bad back".

while chloe is no monster, did she really fit the "particular size" criteria your mom was originally looking for?

that's really all i've got, other than a comment about how well written this, and the linked post are, and how much i enjoyed reading them both.

did she really fit the "particular size" criteria your mom was originally looking forWell, the trick there is that she was using that argument to support adopting a purebreed, where we had a chance of predicting the final size of the dog. Instead, she ended up (as we always do) with a mutt, which of course brings with it a greater degree of unpredictability in final dog sizing seeing how no one even knows what breed(s) Chloe's father was ( ... )
