But, how does one define 'chump change'? Perhaps, if we were to put emphasis on the 'chump' half, then we would come to realize that the chumpiest of chump change would be no change whatsoever.

It sounds like he's still dependent on you, so maybe the two of you could "think of ways to return the favor" before you give him more time and energy.

I feel a certain amount of guilt about requesting money from people who live just above the poverty line while I make far more than a single twenty-something needs. Being taken advantage of is, in the end, my choice.

But this won't stop me from complaining about it.
