Lincoln was overrated.

Despite some psychosomatic and/or sympathy pains (sore throat and cough), I ended up going out with the other members of Boy Bünd. After a chinese buffet, we viewed The Cat's Meow, which proved to be quite entertaining (albeit a half hour too long). It was peculiar watching Eddie Izzard play Charlie Chaplan and Kirsten Dunst play something other ( Read more... )

I think you've just spoiled Lost Boys for me.
I mean, I've seen about half of the middle, so I know who is in it, (Jason Patric, Dianne Wiest, Jami Gertz, Keifer Sutherland, Alex Winters, a Corey, I'm guessing) which means I know who plays the mother's boyfriend. It's Edward Herrmann, who is currently the Gilmore grandpa on Gilmore Girls, as well as having been in everything from two of the decent arcs on The Practice several years ago to having been one of the gay business associates in Big Business.

But I didn't know he was the head vampire, though given the subtlety of the film in general, I don't know why I should be surprised - parent's new beaus are never a good sign in a teen flick of any kind.

I'm basing this on a supposition that it is him playing William Randolph Hearst, which I have no real idea is true or not, but I think it is him. Hell, he's who I'd cast.

All of that, and not a single reference to the Imdb. After I've posted it, I should probably see how wrong/right I am with all of that filmography

This would be one of the rare occasions that I feel no guilt spoiling a movie for someone else because, quite frankly, you should have seen Lost Boys at least thrice by now. It is an utterly charming film (I owned the soundtrack and a rather gay poster of all the sexy vampire boys during high school). Also, I believe it represents the last respectable movie to feature the two Coreys. Seminal filmmaking.

For shame!

I know. You should hear the disbelief my goth friends express when they discover/get reminded that I haven't seen all of it.

It's wouldn't be a cause for guilt anyway, however, because it's my own brimming database of filmic factoids that caused the spoiler.
