I think you're right. Theoretically, there are too many variants to compose the perfect Scrabble word. For example, while "kazoo" would score high based upon letter scoring alone, a word such as "quit" could score higher depending upon the placement of each word in relation to the board, no? Don't quote me on letter choice though, I'm no Scrabble guru.
