Jeeze, I haven't seen anything like this outside of my old textbooks...I hope they were right about how they work. *Ahem.* Hello...? Could someone please tell me where I am, how I got here and why some crazy people think they're my family?? None of this makes any sense whatsoever! Please don't tell me I somehow got stuck in another spacetime

not more time travel!, oh great more crazy, can't i just go home?, spacetime anomalies suck

Well, another person I didn't expect to see for a while.

[There's no real response from chaos, but Allen can probably imagine that he's got one of those unreadable smiles upon his face.]

Are you alone in your place, or is your family merely 'drones'?

Assuming drones are the people that think I've been here my whole life, yeah, that's it.

Yes, that sounds right. I apparently have a "mother" here. You should hear the rest of the family, however.

[Again there is a tinge of amusement in chaos' voice.]

Oh? Sounds like you're happy with it, at least.

More amused than anything, if you would believe it. This place has assigned Wilhelm as my Father, and MOMO and Jr. as my siblings.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster if you ask me...

[Chuckles a little bit.]

Well, Wilhelm and I do get along well enough that is should not be an issue. Jr. I have lived with for very many years before. As for MOMO, she is a very sweet girl, so I do not see any issue there.

What about Jr. and Wilhelm? What about everything that just happened? Do you really trust him not to try to use everyone all over again?

So far, I have seen no strife between Jr. and Wilhelm, if that is what you mean. As for what 'just happened', the circumstances were entirely different.

This place has taken my powers, and Wilhelm's as well. Although it seems we can regain them over time, I do not believe Wilhelm knows enough about the force controlling this Mayfield as of yet, nor has enough power, to want to try anything foolish.

Of course, he is a man who is not content to sit idle. It is likely he will do what he can to leave, even if it means using people again. Yet worrying about it at this moment in time is a useless stress.

But why manipulate everyone? I can't see how anyone would want to fight getting out of a crazy place like this.

Couldn't you?

You see this place you have been brought to as taking you far from everything you know and understand, and far from all the people of whom you care for. Yet not everyone comes from such a past as yours.

If you consider that this place has been bringing people from many worlds and times, and how tumultuous our own history is, who can say that there is not one here who, without people to care for them in their time and place, has managed to find here someone of whom they can feel a feeling of belonging when they are around?

When you look at it in this way, I believe you could see how someone could, indeed, desire to stay here.

I guess...when you put it that way. But do you really expect finding a way out to completely destroy this place, or force everyone to leave?

It's hard to say on that. If this were our own world, I could figure things out simply due to my connection to it, but here, even I am left as everyone else; Unsure what holds us, what it's purpose is, the effect our actions against it could cause, and so on.

It is possible that, even if we find a way out, little will change, except the bindings that have been placed upon us. But it is also possible that, if we unravel the mystery to this force, all will disappear.

Why can't these things ever be simple?

Because, not everyone and everything was created as straight-forward as you were, Allen.

[The tone makes it obvious this is not an insult.]
