We've got a baby dragon hanging around Ponyville, so species isn't a huge deal.

It's pretty easy to get caught up in differences, though. Especially if somebody's really strange.

We were kinda guilty of that when Zecora came around. She's this Zebra who lives out in the Everfree Forest, and everypony thought she was some kinda evil enchantress.

Yeah, turns out it was all a huge misunderstanding. We just got so caught up in how different she was, plus we thought she cursed us.

Haha . . . we all seem to make that mistake. So what was it, then, if it wasn't a curse?

This weird plant called Poison Joke. It pulls "pranks" on people by messing with 'em. Twilight's horn got all floppy, Applejack shrank, and my wings turned upside-down.

My friend Fluttershy got stuck with a guy's voice, too.

No wonder you thought it was some malevolent curse at work.

Yeah. Even Twilight thought it was after a while, and she's the one who said curses don't exist in the first place.

Heh, well, there are people who're that way, too. And you've got to admit that curses are scary things, even as a concept.

Yeah, no kidding. Plus, anyone who lives out in the Everfree Forest is pretty suspicious. That place's just not right.

We were wrong about Zecora, but I think anypony would be careful if somepony else started living out there.
