Andrew got up and opened the door. He was still pretty disheveled, his eyes puffy, and he was sniffing pretty hard. "Hey, Isabel," he said, seeing his big sis.

"Hey," she said softly. "I was wondering if you wanted some company?"

"You heard, huh?" Andrew asked, stepping aside and gesturing her into the room. "Was it on the radio?"

"Radio mentioned he left. For good?" Isabel asked, holding out the non-spicy hot chocolate.

Andrew took the hot chocolate. "..." He couldn't really say it, but he nodded to let Isabel know that it was for good. "His mother's sick," he explained.

"And he's needed at home." It was an understandable reason for leaving, but it didn't make it hurt any less. "I'm sorry. I wish things had worked out differently for you."

Andrew shrugged. "I think this is the point where I'm supposed to say something about rolling with the punches," he said. "I just keep forgetting the rolling part."

"Unfortunately that's not a question I have the answer to," she admitted, taking a seat on the edge of the foot of the bed. But for his sake, she hoped it was soon.

"I feel like Nancy Kerrigan after she got bashed in the knee," he said, taking a sip of his hot chocolate. "It's the death of a dream, you know."

Isabel took a sip of her own drink. "Oh? What were you dreaming?"

"I was living the dream," he said softly. "Last week at Wintergreen with Neil was amazing. I wasn't sad. I wasn't thinking about home. It was just sweet and good and worry free."

She could relate to that. The last week in Roswell, with her family, and Wyatt visiting. "And now you have the memory. Which I'm sure hurts right now. But isn't it better to have it?"

Andrew just shook his head. "I don't want to think about it right now. I mean, two days ago as I was all giggly over the fact that I had just lost my virginity." Of course, the pot brownies helped with the giggle factor. "And now I can't think about it without this happening." Andrew pointed to the tear sliding down his cheek.
