The letter was never intended to be read. I was angry, sometimes writing these things down helps. She was never supposed to know, because honestly I know myself, and I know I didn't mean it.

If Marlene would not have left in such a hurry, I would have apologized. I fear writing would not elicit a response.

Of course it's your business, you are her friend.
