It's cheaper at Amazon

So, Barnes and Noble wants two dollars more for the pre-order of "The Deathly Hollows" than Amazon is asking.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Hmm - well you'd also have to wait until Saturday morning to get it (unless you mean Barnes and Nobles is delivering) - so far I've gone to the OotP and HBP midnight releases so I'm not sure if I'll preorder yet (mostly in part cause I have no idea where I'm going to be for the release yet)

I know where I'll be. Some place boring and predictable. That's me!

I plan to just buy it the next day wherever I am in the world. But I suspect I'll be too scared to read it!

Yeah, I did that with #6. I was so afraid to finally read it.

Basically, with #7 - she'll either lose me with a lame revelation and even lamer deaths...or she'll win back all my love with a totally original, satisfying ending.

I'm praying she doesn't do a grim-but-with-light-of-hope downbeat ending.

That would suck more than anything has sucked in the history of sucking.

I have to admit that 'grim but with light of hope' is one of my favourite flavours, but you're right that it would be utterly wrong for the HP finale. I hope there's some genuine complexity mixed in with the light though. And I really hope that the inevitable deaths aren't lame and pointless and undeveloped like (I thought) Sirius' death was. And and and...

I really hope the last book doesn't kill fandom.

If the ending is brilliant (and unexpected) it'll boost the fandom, in my opinion.

If it's the expected bloodbath, it'll really maim the fandom.

(That's how I see it)
