Oh, man. This was fantastic.
I really liked Cinna's quiet, very stable sense of wisdom throughout all of this. He's always been one of my favourite characters in the series, and you nailed his ability to speak as someone above the Capitol while still being a part of it.
Honestly, I loved the detail in this entire thing. There is just so much meticulousness in the way these two think and act, all the way into their dialogue, which I can absolutely see happening in canon. And who knows? It totally could have happened in canon; we just never see it because we're in Katniss' POV. But yes.
This observation of Peeta by Cinna was my FAVE:
"You arrived before them like a Career would have. All shine. But no pride. You made them laugh, and talked about honestly how you were learning their world, never humiliated, but only endeared to it. You didn't stand before them and try to impress them or demand their pity. You talked to the whole nation as though each of them was the brand ( ... )
