Sleepless

I haven't been sleeping very much. Last week I only slept like 4 hours each night, then Friday I decided it'd be a good idea to stay up all night, then I crashed about noon Saturday for 3 hours, did the same thing Saturday night and crashed Sunday for about 4 hours in the afternoon, and then I had Monday off so I did it again! Now it's 5:00am ( ( Read more... )

LOST: I started watching to support Merry, but yes, though I love Dom, Charlie is one dimensional and snooze-worthy. I'm starting to see Jack in the same way, but I think it was due to the meh episode. My love affair with LOST has been like this since the beginning: Ooh, wow, boring, BEST THING EVER, wow, meh, blah, OMG, etc. Hee!

RE: The Thin Red Line...no reading the book will not help. The book is just a bare basis for the film. It's like my 2nd fave movie EVER!

The mosy poignant and beautiful anti-war movie ever made, froma soldier's point of view.

I cry like a baby every time I watch it.

I know its long, but re-watch it...it takes multiple viewings to get it.

I'll definitely re-watch it. Yeah I agree it's very sad and emotional. Cried during the very first death scenes, especially the one where once solider asked the other to hold his hand as he died, there was just something so touching in that scene. I loved the internal thoughts narratives of the movie, but would've loved even more. When the main guy (James Caviezel's character) talks about love, the emotion mixed with that stunning photography was breathtaking. And then when he received the divorce letter... wanted to strangle his wife for doing that to him. But I guess that's not fair, 'cause I don't know her "side" of things.

Sean Penn's character was fascinating, but I just don't think I quite "got" him. Seemed to be pro-war and anti-war all at once. And there's some other things that I got confused on. Maybe like you said further viewing will help me understand it all better.

Thanks for letting me know reading the book won't help though. So I'll get right to re-watching it this weekend. :)
