Wonderful installment. Is it wrong for me to hope Damon and Elena experience more near death accidents? Apparently that's what it takes for them to give in.

As much as I am enjoying the unfolding relationship between Damon and Elena, I also appreciate that you keep the impact of both Katherine and Stefan on them in the forefront of the story. The way you portrayed Damon's emotional anguish when he thought it was impossible to ever be near his brother was really powerful. And Katherine was all but present during the *ahem* climax of this installment and its aftermath.

Speaking of the wonderful lady, I'm excited to see the fruits of Katherine and Caroline's collaboration!

It is never wrong to hope for near death in fanfics! It is where ALL the near death should happen!!

I honestly think it would be impossible for those two to have a relationship that wasn't at least a little bit informed by their external relationships and history with Katherine and Stefan. Also, Katherine is my FAVOURITE so, she's pretty much grounded in most of the things I write in this fandom! Even when it's not about her it's still... about her! Haha!!

The tilt of her head, the sharp angle of her chin, the loose curls of hair that she's no longer bothering to tame. She reminds him in that moment, achingly, of Katherine. Fierce and self-assured. Too much for him.

Always too much for him.
