PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS HEREwaltzmatildahJanuary 12 2011, 09:46:23 UTC
This has ballooned into something so phenomenal that I don't even have words...
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
Reply to this comment if you have a question and I'll answer you ASAP...
Some things that have already come up:
1. Making donations from outside Australia. Before the auction ends, I'll post a list of suitable donation sites/organisations... Winning bidders will have a few to choose from that are accessible both nationally (within Australia) and internationally for those of you awesome people on the other side of the globe.
2. AUTHORS: When do I write the fic? I will seek confirmation of payment from your winning bidder via email. Once I have that I'll let you know and you can get writing...
3. BIDDERS: When do I make the payment? Once I've confirmed with you that you were the highest bidder, you can make your donation. You'll then need to email me confirmation of your donation and then I'll contact your author and let them know. Once you've made your donation you can also contact your author yourself to make arrangements for

As someone who has lived in Brisbane who is watching this happen in front of her eyes (it's so surreal), I can't say thank you enough for your enthusiasm and kindness.
I'm not in an area that has flooded so I am very fortunate, but I know a fair few people who are and they need all the help they can get.
Re: PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS HEREwaltzmatildahJanuary 13 2011, 11:03:28 UTC
No problem at all!! As overwhelming as the response has been (I don't think my LJ or hotmail will ever fully recover! haha!), it's also been VERY awesome to see how keen everyone is to help out/donate etc. Some of the bids have blown me away...
Re: PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS HEREwaltzmatildahJanuary 13 2011, 14:01:08 UTC
Absolutely! We still have people signing up ALL THE TIME!! It's been awesome, definitely add your name, then I'll add you to the masterlist which can be found in the original entry above, and you can pimp yourself at your own journal!

Thank you for all the hard work you're doing, glad to see it is going so well.
I was wondering if I might be allowed to make a post to link to my site's charty drive: PennyDreadfuls21.com
We are a website for customised original short stories and we are having a charity drive with all proceeds going to either Cancer Research UK or the Queensland Flood Appeal (the person commissioning the story chooses). We're dealing with the donations in a similar way to you, asking them to donate and send us the receipt as proof and, on discussion, we decided to adopt your time scale model to make sure we make the most money for charity. My sister and I are aiming to take on three Charity commissions each if we have enough bids, which is why we're trying to get the word out.

Thank you ever so much, I've added you in to the main news story we have on the site with this thread at the moment. LMK when you've created the comm and I'll add it in.

Hiya, I had a thought about offering up icons. Is it okay if I adjust my offer that anyone who bids and donates I will then make icons for? So that they can bid as much or as little as they want and hopefully raise a little more money that way?

Yo. Fellow Aussie from QLD here and looking to help however I can. Willing to write or do commissioned artwork. Here's my dA http://marigoldsthorn.deviantart.com
Do I just start a bid post or would you rather it happen another way?
Re: PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS HEREwaltzmatildahJanuary 14 2011, 05:36:14 UTC
Hi! And thank you!!!
Start yourself up a bid post and join the queue! I'll add you and your details to the master list and you can pimp this and your thread out anywhere you like!
Re: PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS HEREinnerslytherinJanuary 14 2011, 05:43:51 UTC
In the interests of further categorizing the lists to help people find what they want more easily, I've started listing all the contributors by fandom. For example my own fandom:
I'm just pulling their name, but thought I could then link to the bidding posts. If this is something you'd be interested in me continuing tomorrow (I'm bout to fall over tonight), I'd be happy to work on it more then. Just let me know. :)

SO MUCH YES PLEASE!
Actually, if you type it out and then email me, floodreliefviafic@hotmail.com, we're actually starting up a comm for this (as it's bigger than Ben Hur and we were NOT expecting it!), I can put it up there as soon as it's up and running (which should be pretty soon).
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!

We also have an LJ comm with a post explaining it all here: http://community.livejournal.com/pdreadfuls21/
Thank you for your consideration.
