I LOVE IT.
Especially the ending bits that I hadn't seen yet. You've done a brilliant job of getting all the Gail/Luke in just by using Oliver and Sam and you therefore get all of the awards. The whole thing is so atmospheric and truthy andI especially love the bits with Sam's inner monologue at the end. The way that he's re-making things into something that he can process. And Gail with her tears and her truthiness about Andy coming to see Sam and the re-establishing of all the walls. Love the imagery of her walls coming down and her being visible and then suddenly not.
Basically when's part 2: rehab?!
Also, you may have a rogue non-ending italic HTML coding cause it became all italics for me shortly after Sammy got to hospital. How's that for con-crit!
*flails some more*

I'm glad you liked it because, oh my god, it was doing my head in by the end there!! But I also do like the ending. I got it to the point I wanted it to be at without needing another 4000 words to do it, so that's always a bonus!!
The thought of a part two terrifies me because I know, KNOW, KNOWWW how hard it'll be to make it realistic. I mean, we both know there is nothing glamourous about recovery from a TBI.
I guess I could always employ a Shonda-esque time jump?! Haha! /cheating.
I'm not sure what the issue is with the italics on your end, because it all looks fine on mine... Hmmm. Odd. I'll double check the html though.

You've basically got me all mute-like. This is amazing!!!!!
(Is there more? Please say there's more!)

Mute-like is good! Yay!
I'm glad you liked this. I initially wrote the first half on a whim and Catteo convinced me to show it to her and then, dirty enabler that she is, was like FINISHHHHH ITTTTT.
And so I did.
She is impossible to resist, yo!
As for a part two, I'm really not sure yet. I WANT a part two, but I also know how hard it'll be to write. No promises that there'll be a finished product, but I CAN promise I'll at least try!

I love how you captured what it's like to be in an accident, the way your mind goes in and out and turns in circles as you start to process what's just happened. Damn good read.
