Walter sat on the floor in his room and threw a crumpled paper ball for Pup, letting him retrieve it. He was starting to get used to the hellpuppy and wasn't sure he wanted to send him away

Nadia leaned her head in on her way back upstairs after shop class. "Hey, Walter. I wanted to ask how Victor's doing?"

"He's okay. Sore, but in better shape than I expected. How are you feeling?"

Nadia shrugged her uninjured shoulder. "Achey." She noticed his wrist brace and frowned. "You got injured, too?"

Walter made a face and looked down at the brace. "Fell wrong on the ice. Stupid, but nothing terrible."
