Pip turned around and wandered down the hall. "G'night."
Walter hoped Nadia appreciated her friends, including her cat. That was his second threat of bodily harm or death he'd received.
He returned to his room for pajamas and an internal debate about just where he was going to sleep - bed, floor, or chair.
Floor meant making Nadia feel bad about kicking him out of his bed. Chair meant the same thing with the added bonus of reminding her of the nights he'd watched her sleep after the Rambaldi elixir.
Bed meant... being in bed with Nadia.
And threats to both his kneecaps and his life.
Which was why he ended up curling up at the foot of the bed, as far away from Nadia as he could get without falling off the admittedly small mattress. At least if he sprawled during the night, he'd end up cuddling her feet and not anything else.
Of course, she might wake up with a lovely view of his feet, too, but they could probably both live with that.
