Basically... I've always felt "different" from other people.  Like in the way that I relate to the world.  Like most of the times I see things that others cant or make a connection that others cant.  Or sometimes I ( Read more... )

Christianity and existentialism are not mutually exclusive, and you certainly do not have to choose between the two. Did you know that the father of existentialism is the Danish theologian Søren Kierkegaard? Yes, that's right he was a Christian theologian and he is considered to be the father of existentialism. You can find out a great deal about Kierkegaard at this link (this is a very comprehensive treatment of his life and work if you keep scrolling down ( ... )

ok Im going to do a massive reponse to everyone, since i've been puting this off forever.

I knew about the existance of Christan Existentalism even before I wrote this post. I read about the two, and the philosophy that best fit how i felt was the post world war II existentalism, thanks to anyone that had the idea of a comprimise. The intelectual side of me relates to the exsistentalism, as does the darker emotional side of me. Yet the spiritual and hopeful side of me relates better to episcopal christianity. because theres no middle ground in how i feel, it is hard for me to accept the compromise as much as i want to.

im pretty sure that makes no sense what so ever.
but such is life

anyway...
for those of you who did indeed read about post-wwii existentalism, please dont worry about me being sucked in to the philosophy or any thing like that. Im simply figuring out everything from afar and during that time i plan on continueing with me christain faith.

ok thats about it,
love,
Hilary
