This is one of those dramas that I'm scratching my head wondering why I like it so much, and yet I do. As you said, the plot is whacky, yet I love where its going.
I think it's a kind of niche drama, in which you get it or you don't. For me, I see it as so absurd at times that it's fun, much like Hong Kong comedies or parodies movies. Personally, I love tv shows like Hogan's Heroes and movies like Ninotcka or Comrade X, so this is right up my alley.
I think I like it because of all the chemistry and the fact that it is just whacky fun. Oh yes, it does remind me a bit of the Hong Kong comedies and parodies films. It's just fun. I'm sure there will be angst later, it is a K-drama, but for now - it's just chemistry-filled whacky fun.
