Manga, Manhwa, and Manhua You Want To See On TV?

Dec 05, 2010 00:22

It seems countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Mainland China are always using mangas, manhwas, and manhuas as inspiration for their dramas. In fact, it seems like 90% of Japanese dramas in the last few years have been based on mangas. And, how many Taiwanese Idol dramas are based on Shoujo mangas? Too many for me to count, that's how many. Also ( Read more... )

Hmm tough question! I was freaking out when I found out that Parfait Tic was being turned into an idol Taiwan drama. But if I had another that I'd turn into a drama I'd have to say Alice 19th or 100% Pefect Girl.

Alice 19th should be a jdrama only because of all the supernatural and fighting scenes. I couldn't see another country doing it the right way. Jdramas are always a little more out there so I think it would work.

100% Perfect Girl could only be a taiwanese drama because a kdrama or jdrama wouldn't be able to produce some of the racier scenes.

I really like your idea for Honey and Clover, I think a kdrama version of it would be really good!

Parfait Tic?

I've never read Alice 19th, but after looking it up, I do think it would make a nice J-drama. I thought about reading 100% Perfect Girl, but heard it got a bit soapy toward the middle and end. Is it good?

Thanks. I just think Honey and Clover would be a perfect K-drama. Too bad its very doubtful they'll ever make it.

Yeah its this cute high school story, I really liked it.

Ohh Alice 19th was one of my first mangas. I read a little bit of 100% Perfect Girl and I really liked it. I've been planning on picking it back up. From what I read it was complete fluff but I know it gets soapy so I'm really interested in it.

:( It would kind of be in the same vein as Coffee Prince and Triple if they ever did. At least thats how I picture it.

I'll have to look it up.

I just looked it up, 100% Perfect Girl got a bit, uh, sexy. I'm guessing it would make a good film.

I will always, always want a W Juliet adaptation. My only problem with this is that they need someone to play Makoto SPOT ON (Ito too of course, but DEFINITELY Makoto), or I'd just hate it. Plus, I don't think they could get just any other idol or popular actor to play him, so it'd have to be someone who's not as well known but still very very pretty.

Yes, W Juliet, please. :D

I've never read W. Juliet, but have heard a lot about it. I think it would make a perfect J-drama, They would most likely get an up-and-coming Johnny/Johnny's Junior to play Makoto. Or one of the D-boys.

I don't want Zettai Kareshi in Taiwan. Mostly because I hate the female lead. I've liked several Taiwanese dramas (Silence, Mars, Meteor Garden, My Lucky Star, Outsiders, etc), so it's not the country. Though, I have a feeling things might get a bit "out there" and cartoon-ish.

I love Dengeki Daisy. Honestly, I've only read two volumes, but I already like it a lot. I could see it as a Japanese film to be honest.

I think I'll look up Painting Warriors.

Someone should make Chocolat by Geo and Shin Ji-Sang. It could be the successor to YAB since its about a girl who's a rabid fan of a certain idol group DDL. She can't get in the fan club, so she joins the rival group's fan club to get nearer to her idols. Pretty fun, although series was never completed. Great potential for a K-drama though.

Dazzle by Minari Endou would make a great J drama with two hotties and a cute girl. And I think Hadashi de Bara wo Fume by Rnko Ueda would make a great Chinese or Japanese drama.

And I would love to see Goong revisited again since the manhwa's nearing the end, and also see Full House redone by someone who actually read the original manhwa.

I just started Chocolat! It's okay so far, but I'm not loving it. However, I could see it being a drama. I'll look up your other suggestions, because I'm sure they are interesting. I doubt they'll ever remake Goong after the disappointment of Goong S.And Full House had huge ratings, which I guess is why I hear rumors of a "squeal" of some sort using different characters.
