It is a stupid holiday. You should set yours on fire like I'm going to.

Set the tree on fire? I certainly hope your house doesn't go up along with it.

I don't mind burning the house down, either.

Far be it from me to stop you, but can I ask why you hate the holiday so much to the point of arson?

All I know is that people give presents to each other, and you're supposed to leave them under the tree until Christmas morning!

I don't really get why, though. It's kinda weird.

Ah. What a strange little tradition, indeed.

Is Christmas the name of this holiday?

Yeah -- I think it's the birthday of some guy named Christ? I dunno, my hubby didn't really go into a lot of detail... But I think everyone's more excited about the presents and decorations~ Who knows, it might be fun!

The giving of gifts is usually a good reason to be excited, I think.

I guess I do mean Christmas, yes.

Well, it's basically a holiday that celebrates being around other people, sorta breaks up the winter. There's food and lights and presents. I mean, it started off as a religious thing and then it just kinda morphed.

That's a little sad, though, isn't it? For a holiday with its basis in religion to gradually move away from that.

It's only the best part about being in this dumb town!

[Wasn't he saying that about Halloween a few months ago?]

. . . Except for when the presents are filled with body parts, of course.

... The presents are filled with what?

Sorry for late. =( prodigious_mage December 13 2010, 02:51:10 UTC
Not usually. Only when it happens in the middle of summer.

[Palom is the best explainer.]
